General Terms and Conditions

General

By using or continuing to use the services offered by Dust and Clean it shall be deemed that you are in acceptance of the terms and conditions set out below.

All instructions or work are undertaken on the basis that you will be liable for our fees.

Instructions are undertaken on the express understanding that instructing Estate Agents, Letting Agents, Cleaning Agencies, Public Organisations and Institutions, Commercial Organisations, Private Domestic Clients or others supplying instructions to Dust and Clean are responsible for all fees and disbursements incurred, whether on behalf of their clients or otherwise.

No distinction or variations to these terms are to be implied. Terms are strictly payment on completion.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure suitable access to water and electricity.
To arrange parking for our vehicle during the time spent at customer’s premises.

If Dust and Clean are required to collect keys from a third party’s address then a £10.00 charge may apply.

Deposits.

A 50% deposit may be required for any work above £150 GBP. Any amount deposited will be deducted from the final invoice.

Affordability.

Customers are required to ensure that any quotations provided are within their budget before booking.

Pricing.

All quoted prices are inclusive.

Regular domestic cleaning.

Service cost is £16.50 per hour per cleaner. Minimum of 3 hours per cleaning visit applies. The customer agrees to provide a list of tasks and all the required cleaning materials and equipment to complete the required work. All equipment should safe and in good working order.

If the customer does not have any cleaning materials and asks Dust and Clean to purchase items on their behalf the customer understands an additional service charge will be applied.

The quoted price does not include anything apart from the provision of cleaning labour.

All estimated times are based on averages for dwellings similar to the customers. It’s difficult to estimate precisely how long such tasks may take and that a level of flexibility may be required.

One-Off spring cleaning.

Service cost is £18.50 per hour per cleaner including materials, minimum of 3 hours per cleaner.

The customer is advised that a one-off spring cleaning may take double the length of time required for a general cleaning.

Poorly maintained dwellings may take up to three times longer than a well maintained home requiring general cleaning, therefore we advise that a level of flexibility may be required.

Carpet Cleaning.

Subject to minimum spend of £50.00. Dust and Clean reserves the right not to be responsible for; wear or shading becoming more visible after cleaning; failing to remove old/permanent stains using standard carpet cleaning methods; failing to reverse customer pre-treatment using standard carpet cleaning process and equipment.

Upholstery Cleaning.

Subject to minimum spend of £50.00. Dust and Clean reserves the right not to be responsible for; wear or shading becoming more visible after cleaning; failing to remove old/permanent stains using standard cleaning methods; failing to reverse customer pre-treatment using standard cleaning process and equipment.

Oven Valet.

Service costs start from £50.00 excluding hob, extractor, grill pan, which are quoted for separately.

The final cost will vary depending on the customer’s requirement.

Pressure Cleaning.

Service subject to a minimum spend of £70.00. We charge by the square metre and will attend site to provide an accurate quotation.

Payment.

Payable on completion of work by cash, cheque or electronic transfer.

Terms.

Residential Domestic – Payment on completion. We do not offer any lines of credit.

Commercial and Public Sector – Strictly 30 days.

Debts and Aged Account Balance.

Debts and Aged Account Balance beyond 7 days (Domestic) and 30 days (Commercial) will be referred to;

  1. Small Claims Court.
  2. Debt Recovery Agency for collection.

Each process will require you submit detailed information regarding you current financial situation e.g income, outgoings and other outstanding debts. You need to be aware that all the above processes will result in additional fees and interest being charged, plus a County Court Judgement entry will also be placed on your credit file.

Cancellation.

Regular domestic cleaning.

Customer may cancel a cleaning visit/s by giving at least 24 hours advanced notice. Customer may terminate the whole service by giving one month (30 days) advanced notice in writing and specifying the last cleaning date.

Customer agrees to pay the full price of the cleaning visit if the customer cancels or changes the date/time less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.

Customer agrees to pay the full price of the cleaning visit in the event of a lock-out, being turned away; no one home to let them in; or problem with customer’s keys. If keys are provided they must open the lock without any special efforts or skills.

Customer agrees to pay the full price of one cleaning visit in case of a termination of the service if the customer has given less than one week advanced notice.

Customer has the right to terminate the service without giving one week advanced notice but by giving 48 hours advanced notice before or immediately after the first cleaning visit only.

Customer may cancel the scheduled cleaning job at least 48 hours prior to the agreed start time. Customer agrees to pay 50% cancellation fee per cleaner if the customer cancels or changes the date/time less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.

Customer agrees to pay 50% cancellation fee per cleaner in the event of a lock-out caused or being turned away; no one home to let them in; or problem with customer’s keys. If keys are provided they must open the lock without any special efforts or skills.

Attendance.

Monday to Friday (08:30 – 17:00)
Saturday (09:30 – 12:30)
Sunday and Bank Holiday (Closed)

Cleaner replacement.

Holidays – None
Sickness – None

Claims.

We have public and employers liability insurance.

The policy covers accidental damage. Any breakage or damage must be reported within 24hrs from the service date. In case of damage Dust and Clean will repair the item at its own cost.

If the item cannot be repaired or replaced, the customer will be credited with the items current cash value. We recommend that all fragile and highly breakable items be secured or removed to avoid being damaged.

Items of sentimental value (the customer will be credited with the items current cash value).

Key replacement/locksmith fees are paid only if keys are lost.
